  • Thread Diameter: 30–180 µm
  • Tensile Strength: Approximately 30–90 N/cm (dependent on mesh count and thread diameter)
  • Elongation at Break: 20–35% under standard conditions

Performance:

  • Features uniform mesh openings and a smooth surface, allowing consistent ink deposition.
  • Relatively high elongation under tension, which may lead to dimensional inaccuracy during printing.
  • Moderate durability but prone to stretching over prolonged use.

Applications:

  • Suitable for non-critical printing applications such as basic graphics, textile printing, and signage.
  • Due to its high elongation, it is being replaced by low-elongation polyester mesh in precision printing applications.

Low-Elongation Monofilament Polyester Mesh

Low-elongation monofilament polyester mesh is an enhanced version of the standard monofilament polyester mesh, manufactured with special treatments to reduce elongation and improve stability during printing.

  • Material: High-tensile polyester
  • Mesh Count: Ranges from 30 to 180 threads per cm (75 to 460 threads per inch)
  • Thread Diameter: 27–150 µm
  • Tensile Strength: 60–120 N/cm (varies with mesh count)
  • Elongation at Break: 5–12%, significantly lower than standard monofilament mesh
  • Dimensional Stability: Less than 1% shrinkage under normal printing conditions

Applications:

Multifilament Polyester Mesh

Multifilament polyester mesh consists of multiple polyester filaments twisted together to form a single thread, which is then woven into a mesh structure.

  • Mesh Count: Typically between 10 and 80 threads per cm (25 to 200 threads per inch)
  • Thread Diameter: 50–200 µm
  • Tensile Strength: 20–70 N/cm (dependent on thread thickness)
  • Elongation at Break: 15–30%

Performance:

  • Offers greater flexibility and tear resistance compared to monofilament mesh.
  • Higher surface texture can impact ink flow and adhesion.
  • Increased ink retention capability, which may be beneficial in specific applications.

Applications:

  • Used for specialized printing applications requiring enhanced ink adhesion, such as ceramic and glass printing, thick ink layer applications, and certain textile printing processes.
  • Less common in modern precision screen printing due to inconsistent ink deposition.

Preferred Choice in Modern Screen Printing: Low-Elongation Polyester Mesh

In contemporary screen printing, low-elongation monofilament polyester mesh is the industry standard due to its superior dimensional stability, high durability, and enhanced precision. It effectively minimizes stretching and distortion during printing, ensuring sharp details, accurate registration, and consistent print quality.

This type of mesh is widely used in industries requiring extreme precision, such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, high-resolution graphics, and industrial screen printing applications.
